On Friday, May 13th, there will be the second annual star gazing event at CHS. This event is hosted by Colchester High School’s Action Physics classes and will be put on by Dr. John O’Meara from St. Michael’s College. Dr. O’Meara is a nationally recognized astronomer whose work with light and Quasars was voted as one of the top ten scientific discoveries of 2011 by Science Magazine. The event last year was well attended and well received. The event will start at 7 pm in the school auditorium with a star talk and question period, and then conclude on the athletic fields (weather permitting) with a star gazing event using telescopes that Dr. O’Meara will bring in. This free event is open to the public, so bring your friends and family and enjoy an evening with the cosmos.
