The students at Colchester Middle School are participating in programs this fall that involve them in issues that directly affect our community, nation and world. The community is encouraged to support them in any way we can as they seek to be positive influences in this world. The following are three programs currently involving CMS students:
- Each year, Lions clubs around the world proudly sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups. This art contest for kids encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. For more than 25 years, millions of children from nearly 100 countries have participated in the contest. Colchester Middle School Students will be submitting entries for judging this fall.
- The theme of the 2014-15 Peace Poster Contest is “Peace, Love and Understanding.” Students, ages 11, 12 or 13 on November 15, are eligible to participate. Each poster is judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme.
CMS students, families, faculty, and staff will be participating in this year’s Chittenden County event….
“Making Strides Against Breast Cancer”
CHS is also excited to join us again and our team name is the –

CMS members of the Student Council are participating in the Rowland Foundation’s “My School Builds Character” video contest. By entering, we earn the chance to showcase our video at a statewide conference of peers, educators and policy makers. And… if we’re chosen, the Rowland Foundation will highlight our video on multiple media platforms.
