CHS Ranks in Top 5% of Nation’s High Schools Yet Again!

Your community’s high school has done it again!

CHS once again ranks among the top 5 percent of the nation’s high schools according to US News and World Report, giving CHS its silver medal designation!

Silver medal

This ranking is based upon a number of factors regarding college readiness, including statewide performance data, AP scores, and graduation rate, among others.

CHS ranks fifth in Vermont for the US News Best High Schools 2013 rankings, and it is the only Chittenden County high school to place in the top five.

As we’ve mentioned before, CHS won high praise from the Vermont Agency of Education for its impressive improvements in performance; Lawrence O. Picus and Associates, at the request of the Vermont State Legislature, conducted a case study of CHS in order to ascertain how such improvements were accomplished without high spending (the Colchester School District spends below the state per-pupil average). As a result, CHS is being regaled as a model for other high schools across the state.
