The students auditioned in November and prepared for the festival—which included participants from more than a dozen schools and was performed in front of an audience exceeding 800—for two months. The music festival featured chorus, string, and band ensembles.

A number of well-known pieces were highlighted throughout the two-day event, including Rimsky-Korsakoff’s “Dance of the Tumblers,” Frank DeWald’s “Away from the Roll of the Sea,” Greg Gilpin’s “The Storm is Passing Over,” and more. Conductors Dr. Yutaka Kono, Dr. Dawn O. Willis, and Max Culpepper worked with the students.
