Interested in Taking a Free, Authentically Scored Practice SAT?

We’re pleased to share information about a fabulous opportunity for students interested in taking a free practice SAT sponsored by the Princeton Review!

From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22 at Burnham Memorial Library, students may take a free, professionally scored SAT in real time. (Please bring two #2 pencils, a calculator, water, and a snack. As in the official exam, no cell phones, smartphones, or computers will be allowed in the testing area.) The practice exam is a genuine SAT, and it will be authentically scored. Scores are released only to the students; they are not released to colleges.

On Saturday, September 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (also at Burnham Memorial Library), after students receive their SAT scores back, they will review each section of the exam with a Princeton Review instructor, identify problem areas, and discuss strategies to improve their scores in the future.

Students can benefit immensely from this opportunity! If you are interested in this two-part series, please click here to register for both sessions.

For more information, please call (802) 878-0313 or e-mail Burnham Memorial Library at burnhamlib@colchestervt.gov!

Record-Breaking Participation in Laker Cross-Country Fun Run!

A record-breaking number of students, teachers, and community members joined in the fun at the fifth-annual Laker Cross-Country Fun Run on August 27 at Colchester High School.

CHS physical educator Morgan Samler coordinates the annual 5K race as a way to kick off the cross-country season in a fun and inclusive way that involves students and community members alike. A total of sixty-eight runners signed on this year for the event. This is an excellent nod to Colchester School District’s wellness initiatives, too.

Click here to view a video of the race and its enthusiastic participants! (As an extra bonus, you’ll catch a glimpse of the CHS community garden.)

For questions or comments about the fun run or about physical education at Colchester High School, please e-mail Morgan Samler at samlerm@csdvt.org.
