Malletts Bay School to Host Book Fair

Malletts Bay School’s book fair is right around the corner! Not only will it host a traditional book fair in the library from November 8 through November 18, but it will for the first time ever also host an online fair—open twenty-four hours per day—from November 8 through November 22. This way, family and friends may browse the selection from the comfort of their own homes, supporting students’ reading and helping MBS’s library at the same time!

Book fairs are important to students and to schools. Because students are more likely to read books that they can select themselves, allowing them to choose books that cater to their interests will encourage them to read. And the library relies upon funds raised through the book fair to purchase new materials and technology as well as to fund the school’s Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children’s Book Award activities. This year’s goal is to sell 750 books at the book fair. Family members and friends can create and send wish lists to other shoppers through the online fair, and a sample of some of this year’s popular titles can be viewed here. Books of interest to parents will be available, as well. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, cash, and checks are all accepted payment methods. And all orders will be shipped directly to the schools with no shipping fee.
