Malletts Bay School, Colchester Middle School, and Porters Point School will all host Parent Information Night on Wednesday, April 27.
Malletts Bay School will host an informal event for the parents of incoming third graders beginning at 5:15 p.m. The MBS orientation includes information about the third grade curriculum and some information about the school. The event will conclude with a tour of the building and a question-and-answer session.
Colchester Middle School will also host an information night for parents of incoming sixth graders beginning at 6:30 p.m. The orientation will begin in the cafeteria where an overview of the sixth grade curriculum will be given. A question-and-answer session will follow. Some current sixth grade students will give a tour to parents, as well. The evening will conclude at 8:00 p.m.
Porters Point School’s event for the parents of children entering PPS’s kindergarten will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the PPS cafeteria. Please note that child care will not be provided at the orientation, so please arrange for child care if you plan to attend this event.
Parents will learn what the process for the two-hour kindergarten screening on May 3 & 4 will entail and what it will be like for their children. There will be a tour of the school, and parents will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as to meet Principal Marshall and the four kindergarten teachers.
Please note that this orientation will be very similar to those of past years, so it may not be necessary for parents who have attended a parent orientation at PPS within the last year or two.
