Colchester High School will host a blood drive on Thursday, April 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m in the CHS gymnasium.
The Red Cross Club (http://www.csdvt.org/chs/main/activities/redcross.php) and the American Red Cross (http://www.redcross.org) have partnered for a number of years to hold the CHS Blood Drive, and this year, senior Emily Carver is helping in the coordination efforts as part of her Senior Seminar community project.
All students who are both seventeen years or older and who weigh a minimum of 110 pounds are eligible to donate. Community members are also welcomed and encouraged to participate. The goal is to receive fifty pints of blood. The blood donation process, including registration, a health assessment, blood donation, and time to have a snack before resuming their day, is expected to take approximately one hour of donors’ time.
Pre-registration is encouraged to decrease waiting time, but drop-ins are also welcome. Interested donors can sign up at CHS during lunchtime in the cafeteria or call Deb Deschamps at 264-5724.
