Join Us for the First-Ever Tailgate Celebration at CHS Homecoming!

Colchester High School is rolling out its first-ever community tailgate celebration this week as students showcase their school spirit with Spirit Week 2012, and we welcome and encourage parents and community members to attend and join the fun!

The crown jewel of CHS’s Spirit Week 2012 is the highly anticipated tailgate celebration and decorated car contest, beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19. The decorated cars will be displayed and judged, and the winners—along with this year’s Spirit Week winning class—will be announced at the football game. (The cars will be judged upon specific criteria; to view the rubric, please click here.) This first-ever tailgate celebration will offer food, a dunk tank (come dunk your favorite CHS teacher or administrator!), face painting, and more.

Students are currently celebrating Spirit Week by participating in hallway-decorating competitions, spirit banner competitions, a pep rally, and other events. Spirit Week aims to promote a positive school culture, foster a sense of community, and help create a sense of belonging for all students. It also helps students to build relationships and get involved within the school community by providing a fun and festive environment.

Please join us—students, parents, and community members alike—on October 19 for the tailgate celebration! We hope it will become a long-standing and festive community tradition for years to come.
